Irish Sea Surcharges
Please click on Irish Sea BAF below to find details of the restructured fuel surcharge mechanism and Fuel Surcharge Index Table, which became effective from 1st September 2008.
The mechanism is based on:
- Actual price of both IFO 380 and MGO
- Exchange rate for US$
The price of IFO 380, MGO, exchange rate and corresponding surcharge level will be posted on the web site each week. The surcharge will be reviewed on a monthly basis and will be based upon the previous month’s prices and exchange rate.
The prices for IFO 380 and MGO can be viewed by on www.bunkerworld.com/markets/prices/nl/rtm/ while the exchange rate is available on www.bankofengland.co.uk/mfsd/iadb/Rates.asp.
The rate effective from 1st September is 17%. This rate will apply until the next adjustment date of the 1st October 2010.
BAF is based on the average price of fuel and rate of exchange (US$/£) for the previous month, so therefore the rate for all shipments on Irish Sea Services will be 17% for September.
