IBS - Intelligent Booking System

IBS is Norfolkline's low technology but high performance booking system that allows our customers to make booking requests using Microsoft Excel and an internet connection.

This solution is especially suitable for customers that have a regular order pattern and do not have the IT resources required to facilitate full business to business integration.

The system is easy to use and requires no specialist IT knowledge to implement or operate.

The customer is provided with a specially configured Excel spreadsheet that allows them to make multiple booking requests and submit them directly to Norfolkline's IT systems.

The customer opens the spreadsheet and creates their booking request by selecting the relevant details for each freight booking, adding additional items such as cargo details.

Once they have created their booking requests they click submit and the spreadsheet generates a message which is sent over the internet to Norfolkline's IT systems

When the booking request has been processed by Norfolkline the booking is created in Norfolkline's IT system and acknowledgement (including booking reference) is returned to the customer as required.
